Stellar provides the highest quality of driver education to automatic car drivers in Selwyn & Christchurch (see below).
At Stellar, we focus on understanding the road and the rules, not just rote memorisation of techniques. We'll teach you to when to indicate and when to turn, but also WHY doing it at those moments. We'll teach you to 'read the road'. Understanding these things enhances your learning of when and how, because you know exactly why it makes sense to do it that way.
Every lesson at Stellar is reviewed with a checklist of driving tasks, rating your abilities. We customise every individual lesson for your exact needs and focus on the skills that you most need to improve with.
We understand everyone learns differently, and some face more challenges than others, and will work with anyone to achieve their dreams. Stellar is an LGBTQ+ ally - all clients to Stellar are valued and respected for their true selves, however that is expressed. Our vehicle is a safe space for all to learn!

I'm Stellar's driving instructor. My name is Deb Webb. I've lived in Christchurch/Selwyn all my life and love the area and the people!
I have a Certificate in Adult Teaching and more than 20 years' experience one-on-one teaching of practical skills and tasks. Up until 2020 I was a employed in the computing field. But in 2017 I started volunteering with Salvation Army's Community Driver Mentor Program as a mentor driver and discovered I love helping people become better drivers! I wanted to do it professionally. In 2018 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and I spent 2019 going through major treatments for cancer. Now cancer-free, it is a great time to take on a change of lifestyle and pursue that dream! Through Stellar, I hope to contribute to making drivers in the Greater Christchurch area safer by teaching and upholding the very highest standards. I don't teach you "how to pass the licence tests", I teach you "how to drive well", and you will pass the licence tests because you drive well. I'm also a volunteer with Community Patrols NZ and Big Brothers Big Sisters NZ. I believe it's important to do something productive and useful for your community. As I've lived and worked in the west of Christchurch and the east of Selwyn, those are the areas I want to focus on for driver training, too. In Christchurch we will come to you in Halswell, Wigram, Aidenfield, Sockburn, Hornby, Islington, Broomfield, Avonhead, Ilam, Burnside.
